PDL Electronics Applications Department supplied an overall control system and system engineering to upgrade the wool bobbin line at their Lower Hutt site. Two Microdrive Elites were used to control two separate axes which removed all the mechancial gearing previously needed to drive the line. The new process control is more efficient, less noisy and has lowered mechanical maintenance costs and allowed for simple machine configuration.
