CODELCO, CHILE, CHOOSE MICRODRIVE-i

Many of the 27 Microdrive-i drives supplied earlier this year for the Slurry Pump upgrade in the massive Codelco Andina Mine in Chile have now been successfully commissioned.
The operating environment in which the drives are working would be among the harshest in the world. One of the major considerations is the high altitude. As the mine is situated high in the Los Andes mountains, 3,500 metres above sea level, the reduced cooling effect of the rarefied air requires the drives to be de-rated.
