INTRODUCING THE POWERFUL NEW ULTRADRIVE ELITE 

The new Ultradrive Elite 

Further consolidating its position as the Southern Hemisphere's leading designer and manufacturer of electronic controllers for AC induction motors, PDL Electronics Ltd is extending the Elite family of drives with the release of the more powerful Ultradrive Elite range of motor controllers next month.

The Ultradrive Elite range extends the existing Microdrive Elite range, with five models rated at 60A, 75A, 90A, 115A and 140A continuous rating at 50OC. Each model can be uprated by up to 25% for pump and fan loads at 40OC.

Constructional features of the Ultradrive Elite range include: 

• IP54 protection as standard
• A robust compact all-metal cabinet
• Generous cable termination space and a sealed gland plate are supplied

Fully EMC compliant, the power electronics design incorporates the latest available components and techniques.  These include the use of:

• Input common mode RFI Filter
• Latest generation IGBT semiconductor switching devices
• Output slew rate limiting filter chokes
• Harmonic reducing input chokes

The Ultradrive Elite range also employs the same control module and control software as used in the existing Microdrive Elite range. These features include:

• Enhanced open loop control
• Excellent closed loop controllability
• PID process controller
• Serial communications (RS232/RS485)
• Fibre optic communications
• Interbus Interface (option)
• DeviceNet Interface (option)
