Pallet Unloader at Bluff, New Zealand

Consulting Engineers, Comtec Group Ltd, in Invercargill have designed and built an automatic all-weather pallet unloading system based at Bluff. The unit comprises a hoist which picks up pallets of material and automatically loads and unloads them from the ship to wharf or vice versa. The heart of the unit is a ME-46 on the main hoist.
PDL was chosen above several other variable speed drive manufacturers who were approached to provide possible solutions and were unable to meet the demands of the application.
