Sydney in Focus - Hevac demand leads to Drives Boom

For the past 18 months, PDL Electronics has been making a significant impact in the Australian HEVAC market, particularly in the Sydney CBD. With the boom in the construction industry fuelled by the Olympic Games in September and the focus on Australasian head offices locating in Sydney, there has been significant real estate development in both high rise and high density buildings. Over 600 Elite series drives have been installed on these HEVAC installations.

The versatile control configuration available on the Elite series of drives provides the flexibility to comply with the most stringent project and control specifications. Often the HEVAC industry calls for the drives to have an automatic resetting capability for a selection of faults and to provide for unlimited resetting when a fire command is received by the drive. This feature or what is commonly termed "Essential Services" or "Fire Response", is required so that the drives can function for as long as physically possible in the event of a fire and to allow the air handling systems within the building to continually run - to destruction if necessary.

These HEVAC industry features are easily achieved by using VISTA, a visual programming platform developed by PDL Electronics to allow application specific customisation of drive functionality. Such customisation demonstrates not only PDL Electronics continued commitment to product development on an already world class product, but also our vision for global excellence in the face of the ever changing demands. The Elite range of drives will comfortably accommodate the broad spectrum of applications in today’s industry and admirably satisfy those demands of the future.
